Hinds - Vyda Elmore

Darlington – Word has been received here of the sudden death of Mrs. Vyda Elmore Hinds recently at her home in Santa Monica, California. Mrs. Hinds was the daughter of John and Nancy Jane Elmore and was born northwest of Crawfordsville in the Liberty Chapel neighborhood on April 18, 1886. The Hinds family resided here years ago, before moving to Indianapolis where they lived until Mr. Hinds’ retirement, then they moved to Santa Monica. Survivors include the husband, three sons, Harry of Santa Monica, Austin of Oakland and Ward of Indianapolis, two sisters, Mrs. Nora Oxley of Wingate and Mrs. Florence Adelsperger of Hammond. Services were held last Thursday in Santa Monica with Rev. Kenneth Carlson officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery. =s
